Luxury tour operator Carrier has revealed the names on The Carrier 30 | The most inspiring and influential in luxury travel 2021, naming luxury travel agent Emma Mackley of Emma Mackley Private Travel, an ‘Innovator’. The launch of The Carrier 30 comes after one of the most challenging times the travel industry has seen with a year of cancellations, amendments, refunds and suppressed sales. In lieu of Carrier’s glitzy award ceremony that usually takes place at this time of the year, recognising their top trade agent partners based on sales performance, the list will acknowledge the people and businesses in the sector that they believe should be recognised for their achievements.

Carrier Head of Sales, Rick Milne commented “Our annual awards ceremony is one of our most anticipated events, and of course this year it won’t be going ahead in the usual way. Whilst the past year has been extremely difficult, it has shown the importance of exceptional service and trusted partnerships. It has shown value in businesses who take a human approach and put their customers and staff first, and for us, it is vital that we celebrate these people and businesses, who despite the challenges of 2020, have continued to deliver outstanding levels of service and support to their clients.”

Emma shared that as soon as the pandemic hit, she sprung into action ensuring she was up to speed with the latest travel news, and began contacting all clients with forward bookings to discuss their options. As well as amending, cancelling, and re-booking clients holidays, she touched base with her clients often, sharing invaluable travel updates which kept not only travel but her brand front of their minds.

The Carrier 30 is comprised of five categories: The Luminaries, The Connoisseurs, The Innovators, The Future Retailers, and The Rising Stars. Chosen by a panel at Carrier using set criteria, Mackley is named in The Innovatorscategory which Carrier describe as ‘travel professionals who break the mould in terms of their approach. They favour a less conventional model and use their first-hand experience and social media engagement to influence their networks.’

Carrier National Partnerships Manager, Raj Mistry comments “ Starting with nothing is a common story for many business owners.  Having worked in the travel industry for many years, Emma’s travels have enabled her to see the world through the eyes of a luxury traveller.  As a result, Emma utilised her network to build her business whilst working as a team with Carrier and hoteliers she knows to provide the personal touches to her clients.  Emma has grown a phenomenal business in such a short space of time!”

Mackley remarked “Being selected as an Innovator on The Carrier 30 list is a huge honour and boost after a challenging year.  Sharing this success will hopefully give fellow travel professionals and clients confidence that our amazing industry can overcome anything and come out stronger and more determined to get back to exploring our beautiful world.”
