Villa holidays are a great option for families but the cooking, cleaning and bed making involved with a self-catered villa is such a chore – after all, you’re supposed to be on ‘holiday’.
Fully serviced private villas make for a far more relaxing experience but why not go one better and choose a luxury resort villa instead. The thing that struck me about my stay here was the feeling of privacy and exclusivity – you could hide away in your villa day and night if you wished (perfect for honeymooners!) or use the villa as a base to explore the local area from the pretty coastal village of Ouranoupoli to a walk through olive groves and vineyards to the border of Mount Athos – fascinating!
If you are travelling with children, they will be very well cared for and have lots of fun at the kids club so you can get some R&R too.
My highlights were;
- Delicious long lunches of Greek Salad and Calamari, beachside at the taverna
- Lounging by the Eagles Villas infinity pool whilst sipping on freshly prepared cocktails
- Tasty treats delivered to the villa each evening whilst getting ready for dinner
- Learning about and visiting the border of Mount Athos
- Midnight dips in the villa’s private pool
Basically, Eagles Palace Resort and Eagles Villas have something for every type of traveller and I can’t wait to return with my own family in tow!
